The therapeutic properties of many mountain herbs and plants are well-known in Alta Valtellina, where over the years a notable patrimony of experience and knowledge has been accumulated, spreading among all the population of Bormio and the surrounding towns.

It refers to a patrimony which, among other things, has been protected for more than sixty years by a specific law aimed at avoiding errors and damage due to indiscriminate picking of the herbs and which establishes that each picker must possess a special Authorisation Card.

The Peloni Company use various officinal plants for the production of its liqueurs among which are the German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita), the Mask Yarrow (Achillea Moschata), known also as Musk Milfoil, Juniper berries (Juniperus Communis), Great Yellow Gentian roots (Gentiana Lutea) and many other naturally growing herbs and plants.
